Sarasota Fishing Report
October 15, 2026
We had close-to-perfect weather on the water this week, with the days starting to feel more like fall. Good water clarity and an incoming tide made for a busy early morning, especially for a couple of young anglers. Flounder, Spanish mackerel and snook led the action, with trout also in the mix.

This Week's Report
We had close-to-perfect weather this week, with each day feeling a little more like fall. Water clarity was good, and the incoming tide set up our fishing. We focused on the early morning bite.
A couple of young anglers kept busy with a variety of fish. Flounder, Spanish mackerel and snook provided most of the action, with trout also part of the week’s catch.
We fished with pilchards and pinfish, keeping the bait lightly weighted and close to the bottom. That simple presentation helped us stay in the zone where the flounder and other fish were feeding.
We enjoyed a lively morning on the water and a good mix of species for the kids. Strong winds are expected this weekend and next week, so we’ll keep an eye on conditions before heading out.
