Sarasota Fishing Report
October 9, 2026
Rain and wind made for a changeable week on the water around Sarasota, with murky conditions and an outgoing tide. We found snook and redfish around the passes, and the best action came early in the morning. White bait was our choice, and even with the weather keeping things unsettled, we managed to get out and fish.

This Week's Report
Rain and wind were part of the week around Sarasota, so getting out and making the most of the weather took some flexibility. The water was murky. With the rough weather in the mix, we kept the focus on the passes and on the best part of the day for a bite.
Snook and redfish were the main targets, and we found them around the passes. Early morning was the best time to fish, so getting started then made the most of the bite before the day wore on. The fish were there despite the unsettled weather, and we managed to make trips happen through the rain and wind. Photos from the week show snook from the trips, with a flounder also pictured.
White bait was our go-to around the passes, with pilchards and pinfish in the mix. We fished the outgoing tide, and early morning gave us the best bite.
Rain, wind and murky water made things challenging this week, but we still got out and found snook and redfish around the passes.
